And then there is . . .

. . . Tell Me What I Am

Our system is unique in that it enables every consumer to check and prove the authenticity of a product.

Below you will find a detailed description of the system, but we can summarise here some of the features:

  • Every label is unique and via the web it fully describes the specific article - what it is, who made it, weight, size, production date, best-before-end date, and so on; whatever the producer deems important to include.
  • Security does not depend on the appearance of the label - it is the unique system behind it that secures it. Each label is a unique passport for each and every individual item.
  • The cost of labels is low, as is the service that supports it. Typical label costs are likely to be from zero (if incorporated into existing labeling) to a cent or two (if applied as a separate label). The cost of the service is negotiable based on usage factors.
  • The system actually proves the authenticity of the product.
  • It is delivered via a dedicated, secure and memorable web site 444‑444‑444.net
  • If deemed necessary, the system can be routed via your own domain.
Suitable for all at-risk applications, such as:
  • Retail: Food/Wines/Spirits/Clothing/Perfume/Electronics/All Merchandise ..
  • Medical: Medication/Equipment
  • Production: Supply chain control and security
  • Tracking, control and security of bulk movements
  • Accreditation of Hotels, Restaurants, etc.
  • and much more…
In every case the system provides absolute proof of origin and authenticity.

Our Aims and Objectives

We have approached this project scientifically, to determine how we can ensure that an article is genuine.

The outcome was surprisingly obvious – give every item its own unique identifier. This is a direct consequence of the realisation that without a unique identifier it is actually impossible to prove that an item is genuine.

The current commercial solutions - fancy labels and holograms - cannot achieve the unachievable.

The obvious challenge is how to achieve this in theory and how to implement it in practice.

We have taken up that challenge and show below how we have succeeded.

We have implemented our unique system and successfully used it in the UK, the US, and Europe, since April 2015.

Millions of Security Agents
Millions of Security Agents

We want to empower every single consumer to be his own Security Agent!

Then, even if not everyone checks every item, the chance of discovery will still be very high.

The ability to make a quick profit from forgeries will be virtually impossible due to speedy detection even when 100% checking is not applied.

Our Aim

The only person who is capable of checking whether an item or service is genuine is the consumer himself.

Our aim is to enable a consumer to prove that an item or service is genuine and originates from a genuine source.

The system should be usable at reasonable cost so as to make this commercially viable.

Our Objectives

  • The ability to scientifically prove authenticity.
  • Develop associated security methodologies to ensure the integrity of the system, including protection against:
    • Labels being copied
    • Labels being stolen
    • Fraudulent updating of authentication database
    • Hacking of authentication web site and database
  • Cost of security labels to be kept at a relatively insignificant level - no need for expensive printing technologies.
  • Ease of public use - no special knowledge or complex procedures required on the part of the user.
  • Speed of use - usable before, during or after the process of acquisition.
  • No specialist equipment required
  • Usable for both trade (production and distribution) and for retail purchases.

System Overview

Below we briefly list the main processes involved when a producer wishes to use the system. There is much checking and cross-checking that is done as part of the processes detailed below, with many omitted to keep the description simple.

Also not mentioned are the detailed cryptographic security features that ensure the integrity of all date as well as its secure transmission between the authorized producers and the system.

  1. A producer applies to TeMWIA to use for its own products.

  2. TeMWIA checks out the authenticity of the company and accepts it as a client if all is in order.

  3. The producer provides TeMWIA with a logo and Trading Name that will appear on their authentication web page when a check is made on one of their products.

  4. TeMWIA will check and approve the logo and name. A logo or name that does not clearly match the producer's business will not be accepted.

  5. When the producer wishes to print a batch of security labels for forthcoming productions, it will contact TeMWIA, specifying the number of labels that are required.

  6. TeMWIA will generate a file to be sent to the printers. The file contains individual records for every label, listing the number-pairs and the matching URL from which the QR code is generated.

  7. TeMWIA will then securely send the file to the label printers. The producer can make their own arrangement for the label printing or they can ask TeMWIA to source the labels for them.

  8. A security label must as a minimum contain either a QR code or it must list the two numbers, together with instructions to go to site 444‑444‑444.net and enter the two codes. Normally both would be printed to cater for those with and without Smartphones.

  9. The producer will attach a security label to each product during the production process.

  10. The details of each production Batch is securely notified to us with the first and last numbers used, and the precise and full Description of the goods.

  11. A Batch is defined as a run of products that share the same Description

  12. The Description contains specific details of the product which will help the purchaser confirm that it matches the item he is checking. Typically, depending on the wishes of the producer and the nature of the product, this will contain a clear description of the product together with relevant details such as:

    • Brand
    • Product Description
    • Product Weight/Size/etc
    • Production date
    • Best-before-end date
    • Batch number

The idea is to enable the purchaser to clearly match the web description with the product.

  13. TeMWIA validates all uploaded data, and if found to be in order, the number range and the associated Description is loaded onto the TeMWIA authentication site 444‑444‑444.net.

  14. At this point the everything is in place to enable the authenticity of an item to be validated.
